With this black cast iron teapot from Secret de Gourmet, you can brew tea the traditional Japanese way. The cast iron keeps your tea warm for a long time and the interior is enamelled. Place loose tea leaves in the fine stainless steel strainer.

How to use and maintain it

• Wash the teapot with warm soapy water before first use, dry it off and rinse with boiling water
• Clean the interior with a soft cloth, without strong cleaning agents
• Dark spots on the inside are caused by tea deposits; over time, the interior will turn dark brown
• Cast iron can rust around the lid and spout: rub the outside and the rim with a lightly oiled cloth, never the inside
• Store the pot without the lid, or place a piece of kitchen paper between the lid and the pot
