O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen

O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen and by Your power over creation. Keep me alive if You know that life is better for me, and take my life if You know that death is better for me. And O Allah, I ask You to let me fear You when I am alone and when I am seen. And I ask You to let me speak with sincerity in times of contentment and anger. And I ask You to let me walk the middle path between poverty and wealth. And I ask You for eternal bliss and an eternal delight for the eyes. And I ask You to let me be content with what You have decreed (in my life). And I ask You for a cool (peaceful) life after death and the joy of being able to look upon Your Countenance. And I ask You to make me yearn for the meeting with You, without any evil or misleading temptation preventing me from it. O Allah, beautify us with the beauty of faith, and make us among those who invite to guidance and among those who are guided. (Imam Ahmed and An-Nasaa'ie)
