Dealing with Scholars

With this groundbreaking work, we call all 'students of knowledge' to account and hopefully ask them to reflect on the (unjustified) finger-pointing towards various prominent scholars. It turns out that many of us have, consciously or unconsciously, divided the Ummah simply by placing one scholar above another. While in reality, and according to Allah's Sunnah, the scholars complement one another where necessary. It is not a matter of 'my scholar is better than yours,' but rather a matter of 'what benefit do I gain from which scholar,' as the righteous among them are the true heirs of the Prophet (saws). They are like moonlight in a clear, starry sky; let us then derive benefit from their light, which pierces every darkness.

Finally, we want to point out to the brothers and sisters that the flesh of the scholars is poisoned, so think three times before you accept or make a statement (read: rumor) about a particular scholar. Do you not realize that Iblis secretly laughs up his sleeve every time we revile a scholar? Do you not realize that this pernicious intriguer plays us against one another in this way? Do you not realize that it is high time we unite instead of divide?
